Meet Our Psychologists and Therapists

Reyhaneh Rezapour

Reyhaneh Rezapour was born in 1993 in Tehran and is a psychotherapist in Parto Andisheh. She obtained a high school diploma in human sciences and studied Guidance and Counselling in Alzahra University. Winning a quota for specially talented students, she was assured a place on the MA course in Family Counselling in Shahid Beheshti University's Family Institute. She was accepted on the Clinical Psychology PhD degree course in the Department of Psychology of Shahid Beheshti University (SBU) in 2019.

Ms. Rezapour was Secretary of Alzahra University's students' union and for two years worked as school counsellor in Tehran. In SBU she has worked as pre-marital counsellor in the university's counselling center. She is a member of the Center for Cancer Research of SBU and research assistant in the university's counselling center.

Ms. Rezapour's therapeutic approach is cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) particularly third wave CBT and her main interests lie in treating mood and anxiety disorders, obsessions, perfectionism, self-criticism, teaching life skills and pre-marital counselling.

Ms. Rezapour has also published several academic articles in areas such as attachment in children and adults, relationship issues and sexual boredom. At present she is conducting research for her doctoral thesis on self-compassion under the supervision of Professor Shahidi.

She deeply believes that the key to psychological well being is to learn how to practice compassion with oneself.
