Shahriar Shahidi

Shahriar Shahidi, born in April 1964 in Tehran, is co-founder Parto Andishe and works as a lecturer and psychotherapist. He spent elementary and part of secondary school in Tehran and at the age of 14 was sent to England to continue his education. He studied Psychology in East London University, obtaining BSc with honors in 1985 and after completing a master os science degree in Medical Psychology from Surrey University, went on to obtain a PhD in Psychology from University College London in 1990. Dr Shahidi then worked in the London Hospital and in the academic department of psychiatry in the Royal Free Hospital, London as behavior therapist and assistant professor.

After returning to Iran in 1993, Dr. Shahidi was employed by Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran as assistant professor and at present he is professor of psychology in the department of psychology where he was head of department for 13 years. He co-founded Part Andishe with Ms. Toktam Jannesari. Dr. Shahidi is member of the Iranian Psychological Association and the British Psychological Society. He is also member of the special commission for health and clinical psychology in the Iranian Psychology and Counselling Organization. My approach to therapy is positive psychotherapy.
